Todd Schiller
Executive Chef
Patio American Grill is excited to welcome its new executive chef, Todd Schiller.
Until recently, Todd held the position of executive chef at the nationally acclaimed seafood restaurant Kinkead's in Washington D.C. that specializes in unique New-England-themed seafood dishes. During his tenure, he was honored as one of the 10 hottest chefs in Washington D.C. by DC STYLE MAGAZINE. Before joining Kinkead's in 2001, Todd honed his exceptional talents at such remarkable venues as The Inn at Little Washington and Mark Miller's Red Sage.
As a native of New England and a seafood enthusiast, Todd is the perfect match for Patio, which is nestled a block from the town pier in this traditional New England fisherman's village. Todd grew up fishing for lobsters on his stepfather's boat in Newport, Rhode Island, and began learning the art of preparing seafood at an early age. In 1991, he enrolled at the Massachusetts College of Arts in Boston, studying Film and Design. Turning his attention to cuisine, he ultimately followed his true passion, graduating from the illustrious Johnson and Wales University with a Bachelors Degree in Restaurant Management.
Patio is delighted to have someone of Todd's caliber and experience offer his style and approach to our menu. With Todd's talent and expertise, we anticipate becoming a landmark, bolstering our reputation for great regional preparations in Provincetown.
"Provincetown has a national reputation as a vibrant and eclectic vacation destination," says Mr. Schiller. "I'm looking forward to spending the season here preparing food in a way that's near and dear to my heart."
Joachim Sandbichler
General Manager/Owner
Joachim Sandbichler is a seasoned and passionate restaurateur.
Growing up in the hospitality business, Joachim first began working at his godfather's restaurant in the Austrian Alps. During college, he waited tables and managed a nightclub in Innsbruck, Austria. After graduation, Joachim joined Hypo Bank in Germany and, as its youngest Associate Vice President, assisted the bank in its efforts to expand into the European Investment Management Market.
In 1991, Joachim came to the USA to pursue degrees in International Studies and Business at the famed Lauder Institute and Wharton School of Business. After graduation, Joachim - contrary to his colleagues - ended up on East 44th Street rather than Wall Street. He had decided to follow his heart, and for the next ten years, he ran such prestigious venues as 44 at the Royalton, The Blue Door at Delano, Carmine's, The Water Grill in LA and the specialty restaurant division at King's Seafood Company. In 2002, Joachim opened his first restaurant, Pesce Blue, an Italian seafood restaurant that is critically acclaimed and a popular destination in the small New Hampshire town of Portsmouth. During his time in Portsmouth, Joachim fell in love with Provincetown during a visit, and the rest is history.
